Morning Routine
A morning skincare routine is essential for prepping your skin to face the day. It helps cleanse away overnight buildup, hydrate and protect your skin from environmental stressors like UV rays and pollution. Starting your day with the right products sets the foundation for healthy, glowing skin and keeps concerns like dryness, breakouts, and premature aging at bay.
Step 1: Gentle Cleanser
A gentle cleanser removes overnight buildup, sweat, and excess oil to refresh your skin without stripping it. Choose a formula free of photosensitizing ingredients like AHAs, BHAs, or benzoyl peroxide to avoid increased sun sensitivity during the day.

Step 2: Toner
Toner helps address specific skin concerns like acne or hyperpigmentation by delivering targeted ingredients and light exfoliation. While not essential, it’s a beneficial step if you’re looking to treat or balance particular skin issues.

Step 3: Serums & Emulsions
Serums and emulsions deliver concentrated ingredients to target specific skin concerns like dehydration, acne, or dullness. Avoid ingredients that increase photosensitivity such as retinols, AHAs, and BHAs in the morning to prevent an increased chance of sunburn. Apply them from thinnest to thickest consistency to ensure optimal absorption and layering effectiveness.

Step 4: Moisturizer
Moisturizer seals in the benefits of your previous steps while providing essential hydration. It helps maintain your skin’s moisture barrier and protects against dryness throughout the day.
THE SECRET: most moisturizers are largely the same formula with 70% water, so rather than focusing on the ingredients and their purpose, choose one with the texture that is right for you!
Step 5: SPF
SPF is the most crucial step in any skincare routine, shielding your skin from harmful UV rays—the leading cause of wrinkles, premature aging, and skin cancer. Consistent sun protection is the foundation of healthy, radiant skin through prevention and long-term care. Make sure to use 1 teaspoon of SPF (or 3 finger lengths) for the face and neck to get the adequate SPF protection stated on the bottle.
6. Lip Balm + SPF
As we age and naturally lose collagen, the lips become thinner—making hydration and sun protection essential. Using a lip balm with SPF helps maintain lip volume, prevent dryness, and protect against sun damage to slow visible aging.
